Nargis and Uday bond at Yash Chopra’s house

The Times of India has published this story on its website the day after the funeral of Uday Chopra's father - Yash Chopra. Have a read here: http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/entertainment/bollywood/news-interviews/Nargis-and-Uday-bond-at-Yash-Chopras-house/articleshow/16926648.cms . Along with the story, they have also published a photograph which I am attaching to my blog post as well.

Yash Chopra would have really died again if he would have read this story!!. Such insensitivity shown by the newspaper and the photographer (from behind the bushes!!!) towards friends who have come to console a person who has lost his father.

Indeed, journalism takes a new low with this news item.

Post Osama - Time to act for India

'Osama wins gold medal for the game of hide and seek - 2001 - 2011' - I came across this statement on Facebook where a friend had put it across as his status update.... 'Quite apt for the story of Osama Bin Laden after the 9/11 attacks until he was finally killed by the US Navy SEALS in Abbottabad - Pakistan'....

Astonishingly, Osama was hiding in a 3 floor mansion, 90 kilometers from Islamabad - Pakistan's capital, just at a stone's throw distance from the Pakistan Military Academy in the garrison city of Abbottabad, which graduates the elite of the Pakistani Military. While the Pakistani military and intelligence graduate from this academy, it seems Osama was undertaking a five year long post graduation course which ended with a graduation ceremony done by the US forces instead of the Pakistani.

While Osama was hiding in this compound for the last five years, the whole world was searching for him in the mountains on the Af-Pak border... The Americans gave aid to Pakistan, which ran into billions of dollars to find this one man --- interestingly it seems, the Pakistani's instead built a mansion from a part of that money where they could hide Osama, and chose to continuously see the show, year after year, of the US government providing money and military support to the famished economy and top brass of the Pakistani nation.

Now that Osama is dead, this might have direct implications on the economy of Pakistan which was being supported by the aid money being given by the USA. If the money flow from the US gets curbed into Pakistan, it is pretty obvious that Pakistan will resort to exporting terror from the Kashmir route into India at a refreshing pace, given, it can't see India's economy getting stronger each day. It will shift it's focus from Af-Pak border to Kashmir once again.

On the other hand, full marks to the US government and its leadership, for going deep into Pakistan, finding the target, and eliminating it. No Arrests. No Drama. While India, even after having video proofs, and eye witnesses, are preaching to the world the lesson of law by spending billions feeding Kasab at Arthur Jail in Mumbai. The Indian Foreign Minister repeatedly 'requests' the Pakistani counterpart to 'have a look' at the numerous dossier's which India keeps providing to Pakistan with detailed information and whereabouts of Terrorists and criminals wanted by India and sheltered in Pakistan. Till date, Pakistan has never even thought of responding to these dossiers, leave aside actually handing over the criminals to India.

Our accomplishment in 60 years, is a troubled relationship with all our neighbors except for Bhutan. Our true friend. It is more important for us to listen to Kasab's demand of 'Butter Chicken' and watching 'Laawaris', and we feel proud of our judicial system of giving everyone a chance to put across his word in defense. Kasab, went ahead and ridiculed our judicial system, by saying, that the person in the video's and the photos is a 'Humshakal'/ a 'look-a-like' of his.. and our system is actually taking all this!...Our politicians and police men are seen crying at the death of magicians who proclaim themselves as god... Our corrupt politicians debate and decide more about the IPL than our country's policies of importance.

Our intelligence gives information to CIA about whereabouts of Osama (that he is in Abbottabad - RAW/2009)- it even gives information to Pakistan about a threat to Pervez Musharraf's life by Pakistani terrorists, the attempt which eventually was foiled. Our intelligence knows the full postal address of Dawood's residence in Karachi- we even have clear details of the guest list of his daughter's and son's marriage reception -- furthermore, our bollywood actors and actresses often met with Dawood and continue to do so, but still the don is safe.

No doubt, our commando's are capable to undertake an operation such as the one did by the US to eliminate Osama, deep inside enemy territory, but only if our NSG commando's are not made to 'baby-sit' our corrupt politicians. Our government is always happy to engage Pakistan in dialogue, whereas the Pakistani government takes the entire 'dialogue affair' as if they need to read out dialogues from a Bollywood movie. Literally!.

It is time, India eliminates the terrorists and criminals hiding inside Pakistan using full stealth help, the way the CIA and the Mossad of Isreal goes about eliminating its enemies. It is then, when Pakistan will truly come to the table to engage in dialogue.

Pathetic Journalism - WSJ - India Graduates Millions, but Too Few Are Fit to Hire

Another masterpiece of an article, giving me yet another chance to add content to the 'pathetic journalism' section of my blog. This time, it is The Wall Street Journal, taking the honors.

The article talks about India graduating millions of students, but still they are not worthy to get hired. I have never read such an article which has been written after some really shallow research with relatively smaller lesser known companies.

Please go through the following points after reading the article on the WSJ website:

- India is not just about Call Center jobs

India graduates millions of students in diverse fields and subjects, and only a tiny little percentage actually takes up a job in a call center. To come up with examples of call center companies not able to find people who can speak english properly, and to reach a conclusion of they are not worthy of being hired, is utter crap and insane.

- How do we define proper English?

Proper English for a call center company might mean - English in the American accent/Western accent. If the company 24/7 can't find people in India who can speak English fluently in the American accent, or because they do not have the money and time for training Indians the American accent - does it mean Indian graduates are not hire-able? Incredible conclusions by the author of WSJ.

In the same manner, I could write up an article with the title "America graduates millions, but too few are fit to hire" - if needed for call-center jobs catering to Hindi-speaking Indians!

WSJ - get a life. Move beyond America and just Americans in your thought process. It won't be long when Americans would do anything to learn Hindi and Chinese to grab jobs in India and China (a trend already started.....)

- The examples of interviews are rubbish.

Just because an engineer said, his hobby is international travel but has not really traveled abroad, makes him unemployable is kiddish. A call-center company hires even a school drop-out if he/she can communicate well. This young man is an engineer, and if needed can get a technical job if not a call center job.

- The article mentions NIIT Ltd as a recruitment firm, and Maharashtra as a rural state (One of the most industrialized states in India - with Bombay, its capital - the financial capital of the country). Seriously WOW!!! Kudos to WSJ's research.

This is nothing but a sheer blatant attempt to ridicule "Indian Graduates" and some mind masturbation for the author and her likes at the WSJ. Literally, the author is going through an Identity Crysys.

Terrorists Boycott Delhi Commonwealth Games citing safety reasons

Post Updated on 30th September 2010 -

I had written this post when the CWG was in a serious mess. The media, both Indian & International, came down hammering on the authorities for the mess they got the CWG into... Now with just about 4 days left to the start of the CWG, I am really positive about the developments in Delhi. The athletes are happy with the village, with statements coming from various chef de missions that the Village is much better than even Melbourne. The International Zone, as per few athletes is better than even Beijing Olympics.

With all these developments, I think it is wrong on our part, and the media, to really not give a chance to the authorities. Things have been done, and yes, things had not been done as well. But surely now is not the time for bashing up India or the authorities, now is the time to 'come out and play'.

Therefore, the following post, should be read keeping in mind, that I am a proud Indian, and shall always be one. The post should be read with the spirit of awakening towards our political class.

Sid.

---

In what is being touted as the biggest embarrassment to the Indian Government and the CWG organizing committee, Terrorist groups from all around the world have decided to boycott the Commonwealth Games scheduled to happen between 3rd-14th October 2010 in the world's largest democracy's national capital, New Delhi.

This shocking news broke out late night yesterday after top sources from the LeT & Al-Qaida informed news channels their sudden and sad decision. As per the official spokesperson of the LeT, "It will be a shame that we would not be able to play with our fireworks in New Delhi during the Commonwealth Games, citing safety fears for their recruits, with collapsing ceilings and bridges all over, and with roads full of potholes."

It goes without saying, that the execution capabilities of these terrorists organizations have taken a severe beating with the hopeless infrastructure in place ahead of the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi. The LeT spokesperson added "It has become impossible for our recruits to even roam around in New Delhi easily thanks to the huge traffic jams & pathetic roads, leave aside the mammoth task of transporting the arms and ammunition needed to execute a perfect terror attack".

Viewers all around the world, and specially the Delhi spectators were excited and all prepared to witness the fireworks of LeT and Al-Qaida, especially during the opening ceremony of the Games (unconfirmed sources in LeT confirmed this news). The local population was in a state of shock after the news broke out.

Mr. Aam Aadmi, who was looking forward to the Commonwealth Games in Delhi said "It is a shame that after sporting contingents from different countries have doubted their participation in the games citing filthy accomodation and infrastructure problems, now we even have world famous terror groups boycotting the games. It is a shame and a tight slap on the face of the OC, the government of India, and the entire political class. They are good for nothing!"

Mr. Suresh Kalmadi, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the CWG's in New Delhi in response to this major development said "We shall have a world class Commonwealth Games, better than the Beijing Olympics. The terror groups do not know what they are going to miss." In addition, Mr. Kalmadi also burped his future plan of participating in the next bidding for hosting the Olympic Games. Mr. Lalit Bahnot, spokesperson of CWG Delhi said "we hope to welcome the terror groups in future when we host the Olympic Games, and we promise to provide them the best hygiene conditions which will keep them healthy without compromise".

India @ FIFA World Cup 2010

Source - Paul Beckett

The Wall Street Journal

The England squad at the FIFA World Cup 2010 numbers 23 players. The BBC’s crew numbers at least 122, according to this report. India, though you probably didn’t know this, has sent a team of 130.

None of them will appear on the field, however, since India did not qualify. Nor will they commentate on the games. But neither the games, nor the commentary, nor much else in South Africa would be happening without them. They are all employees of Mahindra Satyam, the information technology company that used to be known as Satyam Computer Services Ltd.

Just as every international team in the competition has its unseen ranks of arrangers, trainers, physios, and organizers to get 11 players onto the field for each game, so the Mahindra Satyam workers are the unseen crew that make the World Cup run on time.

Mahindra Satyam
The technical team of Mahindra Satyam manages the FIFA World Cup 2010 at a command center in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The company is the official IT service provider for FIFA, the international soccer federation that runs the World Cup. Mahindra Satyam won the contract in 2007 and maintained its relationship with FIFA through the meltdown of Satyam Computer Services and the resurrection of the company in the past year and a half.

(In case you missed it, Satyam’s founder B. Ramalinga Raju fiddled the books to the tune of more than $1 billion, prompting a government-organized rescue in early 2009 and subsequent sale to Tech Mahindra.) The current FIFA contract runs until after the next World Cup in Brazil in 2014, according to Dilbagh Gill, who manages the FIFA relationship for the company.

That’s why you might have noticed the Mahindra Satyam billboards at the side of match games: as part of its contract, Mahindra Satyam gets nine minutes of advertising for all 64 of the 90-minute games of the tournament, Mr. Gill told India Real Time from Johannesburg.

Part of Mahindra Satyam’s work involves accrediting some 250,000 people (not including fans) making sure that the right people have the right badges for the access that they need. It helps organize 130,000 volunteers from 40 countries. It runs a transport management system that coordinates 10,000 trips a day from a fleet of 1,000 cars, buses, trucks and vans, Mr. Gill said.

And the company makes sure that the $1 billion of “assets” at the event – flat screen TVs, mobile phones, laptops etc. – are deployed properly and returned to their proper place after the final on July 11. So far, four laptops have been misplaced out of 4,300 distributed, Mr. Gill said. FIFA’s own intranet and extranet systems also are supported by Mahindra Satyam, so it handles requests for tickets from the world’s media (there are requests pending for 38,000) and the network on which referees write their match reports after the game.

Mahindra Satyam’s 130 employees in South Africa are predominantly Indian but comprise six nationalities. There are another 50 employees around India working on the event, Mr. Gill said.

Since India’s national soccer team is not there, which team is he supporting? “I hope the U.S. does a good job this time,” Mr. Gill said. “I just became a U.S. citizen.”

India @ Lalit Modi - Ab Tera Kya Hoga Kaaliya?

With the end of the reign of Mr. Lalit Modi in the IPL office, it will be interesting to know what will he do now for a living. Taking into consideration the current defamation of Lalit Modi, the following professions could be/are the choices for Modi to opt from:

Private Secretary/Assistant to Mayawati

The first and the foremost option for Mr. Dalit Modi, ooops Lalit Modi is to take charge of the office of Kumari Mayawati Ji. As per sources, Mayawati has been very excited since the time Mr. Modi was thrown out of the BCCI/IPL. With a lot of money in his bags, Mayawati feels Lalit's true calling is in Politics, and that too as her own personal assistant. She has sent the offer to Mr. Modi, stating she would like to train him under her own chatra-chhaya. In return, she has asked for another garland made of 'hari-patti'.

When news agencies last reached Mr. Modi, he was seriously giving a thought to Mayawati's generous offer. As he puts it to one of the news channels "The money in my bank account, and my current level of reputation is perfectly apt for starting a career in politics, so surely it is one of the options I am seriously contemplating on".

Eve-Teaser/Casanova/Male Stripper

This is the next best option for Lalit Modi. The money in his bank account is enough to get celebrity girls/models drooling over him. Confirmed sources have been giving unconfirmed news about Mr. Modi's recent affair with a South African model. When Mr. Modi was contacted during an IPL match to confirm the news, he was found with a famous bollywood actress as shown below.

The IPL cheerleaders have also given their full support and show of strength to Mr. Lalit Modi. They were also heard suggesting a new business plan to Modi for women's T20 cricket to be done in Europe/USA. When Mr. Modi was contacted about this, he mentioned that details of the business plan of women's cricket is already with Champa, Mr. Praful Patel's secretary, who shall leak the email to all media personalities very soon just as she did before, while emailing Mr. Shashi Tharoor for the DLF IPL business plan before the Kochi Team bid.

"Cheerleaders showing their athletic skills to Mr. Modi, trying to convince him they could play cricket as well"

Police Informer/Witness

Last but not the least, Mr. Modi, is also planning to take up a full time job of becoming a police informer/witness. He has the freedom to come out with all the names who were involved in the IPLGATE scandal. Mr. Modi was overheard saying, "I shall go down fighting, but I shall not fall so much that I would leave the others behind." He also stated the people of India are pushing him to take up the role of the Police Informer, but he mentioned a lot of hassles are in between like Politics, Women, and Cricket as well.

USA worried as cheerleaders could lose jobs if IPL gets banned

Washington D.C.:

The future of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and its commissioner Lalit Modi is in danger, and this is now sending jitters to the USA. If IPL closes shop, it is likely that USA will suffer a lot, since American cheerleaders working in it will lose jobs. Modi is said to have been let off in criminal cases in the USA earlier on the condition that he got Americans jobs later on.

Amidst the global recession and rising unemployment rate, the possibility of IPL's end has shocked the American economy. The New York Stock Exchange fell down 300 points reacting to this news. President Barack Obama has himself expressed deep concern and said, "This could jeopardize the future of hundreds of school- and college-girls who never dreamt of earning a decent living. Instead, they chose to go to India and show their dance moves. Today they are the only source of income to our country." Sensing the gravity of the issue, Obama further said, "This is not acceptable that our women are losing jobs because there are allegations of betting on IPL."

"We have full trust in Lalit. He might even start a league of women cricketers with us as players, if not anything else," said a cheerleader.

Political pundits predict this development could endanger the outsourcing business and could aggravate the anti-Indian sentiments among the Americans. "It can also put brakes on the Nuclear Deal which is very dear to India," said one.

Infosys founder N R Narayan Murthy has also sensed the side-effects and requested the government to let the IPL be the way it is. "We need to improve the image of India - we are the job givers, not job takers," he said. Obama has assured the public, however, that steps will be taken by the government to ensure that IPL should continue and provide job avenues for American women. "Despite everything, we are still the lions and the Indians timid mice. We will manage it," assured Obama.

IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi, without leaving the opportunity to gain some praise, tweeted that the whole idea of IPL was to provide young talented unemployed American women a way to earn decent living and a decent boyfriend (he himself). This tweet was made through Modi's account only, which was supposedly hacked earlier. "I want to help the downtrodden Americans... I spoiled so many of them when I was a student there, and they all honour me," tweeted Modi.
